This week we also started to prepare for one of our busy months full of floor care projects (carpet cleaning and floor waxing of exam rooms) and also a few fall window cleaning projects. Three of our large group clients have us handle several things for them and they all fall very closely together on the calendar since everyone wants their floors prepped and ready to be maintained for winter. Similarly, come Spring time, they all want their floors cleaned up and looking great throughout spring, summer, and fall. These project sure keep us busy and we’re happy to assist our clients!
This coming weekend I am helping my brother-in-law with his first garage floor epoxy job. This isn’t so different from some of the epoxy coatings we do in our clients’ buildings to make concrete work spaces look better. I might video record some of the process-- Especially in the preparation portion which is the most important part. Many people just try and clean the floor with a power washer and paint on the epoxy. The key parts they miss are degreasing with a deck brush or appropriate machine, clean rinsing the floor, acid etching the floor with a phosperic acid or other appropriate acid, and then letting the floor thoroughly dry prior to application of the 2 part epoxy roll on paint.

Well, another week has come and gone. I don't know if it's me getting older or else I lose track of time, but time is just whizzing by me at an accerated pace! It probably helped that Labor Day was this week too...
We had a great week here in the office! It's nice to have the fall rhythm work it's way into the routine. Snow bids, new cleaning opportunities and window washing bids are being created and distributed as I type. I can't believe it's time to even think about snow, especially with the high of 80° today, but it will be here before we know it (says she with a tear in her eye).
This week, the kids started back to school. It was a love/hate moment for both of them. They wanted to see friends and make new ones, but if they could do it all without the side business of school, they would have been MUCH happier!
Our son started 6th grade and he did so in style! (He loves Phineas and Ferb!) So far, he likes his classes and his favorite is Math. Oh how I hope that love of numbers continues and flows into other things like science, music and art!

My husband and I took a break from all the house details/dreaming and we joined our friends Sergio and Heidi at the Twins game on Wednesday. What a blast those two are! I love their joy of doing things together and the beauty of sharing their passion for the Twins with others! The biggest pluses were that the night was stunningly beautiful and the Twins beat the White Sox, 5-4. My winning aura continues to permeate the players' abilities on the field!
