Week In Review: September 23rd - 27th

Tyler DuBord: Facility Service Manager

As we pass through our summer months here at City Wide, Fall will bring another dimension with tons of floor work and additional projects.  As busy as we get with general cleaning visits, new starts, etc, we are always prepared for the Spring and Fall rush for these projects. We have a dedicated group of individuals who all contribute to ensuring project success from beginning to end. Should any customers reading the be interested in receiving a price for any project, your FSM will be more than happy to get you the most competitive bid possible.

For us in the North Metro, the beginning of October will be very busy with starting four new accounts, one of which was a previous customer who signed back with us based on a failed in-house cleaning attempt. All the power to them for trying but they realized that the service and dedication from City Wide was second to none! I will also be challenged by starting a large four-story office complex in Roseville. Logistics are already hammered out for that particular building as we look forward to the beginning of a long term relationship. Finally, we will be starting services at a well-known bank in North Oaks around the same time. Logistics have been knocked out here as well and the relationship has already begun. I look forward to working with each new customer in the future and beyond!

On a personal front, I just got back from a Las Vegas trip which was a total success. Not only did we have a blast but I came out on top money wise. There were four of us out there including my girlfriend, my best buddy, and his wife. We saw several shows including La-Reve at the Wynn and the Titanic Exhibit at the Luxor. Both were amazing productions and I recommend visiting these spots should you be visiting in the near future. We stayed at Mandalay Bay and had an absolute blast in their pools and clubs. The view from out 35th floor “strip view” room was breathtaking as well.

I hope you all enjoy the beginning to the Fall season!

Week in Review: September 16th - 20th

Mitch Brunette: Director of Operations

Summer is on its way out and fall is abruptly approaching as the mornings get cool enough that I question a jacket but decide against until its truly good and cold!  It is an annual internal struggle skipping a jacket merely on principal when in all reality I am a big fan of the fall!

It has been a very busy window of time here as we have been taking on several projects with the help of the admin team!  We were lucky enough to bring on another support piece to our team, Kirsten Lund and she has been a big help here as she learns her role and our system.  It has been very nice to offload a handful of processes to them for better streamlining and consistency in our Ops Team. This allows us to be out in the field with customers, helping handle problems and taking care of building services.

This part of the year is always a busy one as it is in the approximate 6 month follow up timeline for window washing, carpet cleaning, floor waxing, and tile floor deep scrubbing.  The front end of the year clients typically do a full clean of all carpets, strip and wax and so on.  In the fall it is more of a touchup and get ready for winter type of project where they focus on high traffic areas and more light maintenance to have their buildings in order and looking great!

Flu Season is sadly among us, however we do offer Flu Seasonal Services where we can weekly, every-other-week, or monthly do a heavily focused detailed disinfecting of all touch points in your building.  For example, things like door knobs and light switch plates, but can be as detailed as microwave buttons and handles, or your fridge/freezer water nozzles and ice makers. These extra precautions helps to keep your office healthier, avoid sick days, and down time during the busy budgeting period and holiday prep for several of our clients.

As I mentioned above, I really do embrace all four seasons and Fall is one of my favorites as it brings early hunting season.  Tyler Olson and I already got out in the stand once this year for opener and are looking forward to this upcoming weekend spending some more time in the woods.  No major action this past weekend but there is a lot of season left to enjoy!

Week In Review: September 9th - 13th

Jarrad Nickolite: Facility Service Manager

Overall as a company things have been real busy lately. Our sales staff is doing a phenomenal job out there drumming up new business, particularly in the South Metro, which has been keeping Kirsten on her toes. The West Metro has been pretty steady with the extra services such as carpet cleaning, post construction cleans, and large auto scrubbing jobs. The new janitorial business has slowed down a bit in the west metro but I am looking forward to it picking back up!

If you have looked at the past posts, you may have realized I was not in any of the pictures during the company’s fishing trip. I ended up having some things come up and had to stay back to hold down the fort. Looks like everyone had a good time and Tyler took home the big fish. Nice job Tyler!

The summer is starting to come to an end and I’m bummed by that. My wife and I were able to sneak in a trip to Montana to see some family and had a really good time. Of course I found a way to sneak in some fly fishing and shore fishing.

Crazy deal about this was I almost was attacked by a bear…and I can assure you I was out of there in seconds. Don’t know much about bears, so I’m entirely sure how you’re supposed to react but I ran like Usain Bolt!

I had a huge personal project I have been wanting to get done on my boat this summer as well. I was able to get my power poles installed which was a difficult and time consuming thing to do.

Week In Review: September 2nd - 6th

Tyler Olson: Sales Executive

The last time that I posted I had just been promoted to Sales Executive and the past few months have been amazing. I have spent much of the time learning the new role and getting a handle on the day to day activities that a sales executive executes. While it has had its struggles, my first quarter in the role has been amazing. We have had the best quarter of the year and are one of the top performing markets in City Wide.

On a personal note, I have been very busy this summer.  I managed to finish up my MBA program at St. Thomas. Now I have a piece of paper that comes with a loose promise that I will be able to do certain things well (sarcasm). I have also been very involved in the local Bicycle Race scene and have a number of good performances including a big win at the Birchwood Road Race in Hutchinson, MN. As most of the other folks in our office do, I have spent a number of hours on the lakes around the area fishing, including competing in a handful of bass tournaments with Greg.

Looking ahead into the fall, I am very excited for hunting season coming up as well as the first snow falls to be able to strap on my Cross Country Skis. I also am looking forward to a few work trips to visit other markets coming up in the next month or so.
