Happy Father’s Day from City Wide of MN!
Father’s Day was first observed on July 8th, 1908 in Fairmont, West Virginia. It has been a tradition in the USA to celebrate this day on the third Sunday in June ever since. While this is a great day for those of us lucky enough to be fathers, we all know that the true “heroes” were celebrated last month, on Mother’s Day!
When I started at City Wide, we had only one employee with kids, so this day wasn't talked about much. Since then, we have gained many children amongst our City Wide family, making Father's Day a day that we come to appreciate even more around here!
My wife and I were blessed just under 2 years ago, with my first daughter. This year, we were again blessed with another daughter, whom is now a little over a month old. Their names are Millie (21 months) and Mabel (1 month) and thus far, they could not be more polar opposite in their personalities!
There has been no other experience in my life that has both taught me and motivated me as much as having my daughters. I have learned a lot about patience, selflessness, and unconditional love through them. The celebration of Father’s day, for me, is more about celebrating how lucky I am to have these two beautiful girls in my life, than it is about celebrating myself.
